Core Web Vitals: fix your LCP

LCP is the moment your main image or headline finishes painting, and Google grades you on it. Most Shopify stores fail it for one of a handful of reasons — an unoptimized hero, a font blocking the render, or a preload that never happens. We find which one it is and fix it.

Standard task · 3–6 hours1–2 working daysWhole store

What’s included

  • Baseline measurement on mobile and desktop, on your slowest key template
  • Identify the actual LCP element rather than guessing at it
  • Fix the render path — image format and sizing, preload hints, font loading, render-blocking assets
  • Re-measure and hand you the delta with evidence

Not included

  • CLS and INP, which are separate diagnoses and separate tasks
  • Removing third-party or app scripts, which needs your sign-off and is its own task
  • Any guarantee of a specific Lighthouse score — we commit to the LCP delta, not to a number a third party controls

Anything on the right is still something we do — it is simply a separate task, quoted separately, so this one keeps a fixed scope and a fixed price.

When it is done, you will have

  • 1A measurably faster LCP on the template we agreed
  • 2Before-and-after Lighthouse runs, so the result is checkable
  • 3A short note on what caused it and what would undo it

Before we start, we will need

  • Collaborator access to your Shopify admin
  • Which template matters most — usually the homepage or a top product page

Questions people ask first

Will this get me to green?

Often, on the template we work on. But a Lighthouse score moves with network conditions and the apps you run, so we report the LCP delta with evidence rather than promising a headline number we do not control.

Why is this one template and not the whole store?

Because LCP is per-template, and fixing the homepage rarely fixes the product page. We start where the traffic and the revenue are, and the pattern we establish usually makes the next template much cheaper.

What if my apps are the problem?

Then that is what the report will say, with the measured cost of each one. Removing or deferring them is a separate task because it needs your commercial decision, not just an engineering one.
